BSGE vs. Robert H. Goddard HS of Commun Arts and Tech
Our second game against Goddard ended in a 3-0 loss. Though we lost to them again and by a lot more goals than the first time, we were still proud of our performance. The three goals by Goddard were all made in the first half. In the second half, we were able to defend our goal a lot better than the first half, thus why they did not score any more goals.
Since I already talked about Goddard in our first game (Game 2) and not much was different in this game, I will speak generally about our experience with them. There is no doubt that Goddard was a really good competitor for us. They definitely had a lot of skills and thus why they won both times we went against them. One thing I have to say though, is that they relied heavily on one senior player. She was the one who made all four goals in our two games. She was very good; she would dribble around four of our last defenders, making it all the way to our goal and scoring. It was definitely impressive, but sadly, that was why they were able to score so much. Additionally, Goddard had some strong defense. Every time an offensive player on our team got the ball, we were always bombarded by two or three of their defense. That wa why we could never score on them.
In the end, Goddard played a really good season and I congratulate them on being the champions of our division (with nine wins and one loss, a total of 27 points). At one point, we were tied for first but they definitely deserved the wins because they really did play amazing.
